My work appeared in Amusement Today (USA), Attractions Magazine (USA), EuroAmusement Professional Trade Magazine (Germany), and Australasian Leisure Management (Australia, New Zealand & Asia-Pacific). Seeing the imagery travel well beyond our local audience has been incredibly rewarding, especially for a project built on spectacle, detail, and pure theme-park magic.

Capturing a world-class precinct
Launch days move fast, starting the day off capturing hero stills of some of Hollywood’s most iconic characters: Dorothy Gale, The Tin Man, Scarecrow and Cowardly Lion, to name a few. We quickly moved into our media launch before we could officially see our guests set foot in the stunning new land. My main objective was to capture, edit, and deliver stunning imagery for publication across our digital platforms and media partners within minuscule timeframes, ensuring we stayed on the pulse and kept up with the quick demands of the news cycle.
The secondary goal is always to capture media that can be shared with our project partners, like coaster manufacturer Vekoma, so they can also share in the limelight of the successful launch. With that, this post is also about the reason for this post in the first place: global recognition for the park’s momentous occasion.
The energy and excitement of seeing the finishing touches put on a project you’ve been involved with for years is such a satisfying moment.
The biggest challenge? Finding the balance between capturing what it is and conveying how it feels. Theme parks are built on the emotional connection our guests have with every part of their experience; showcasing those moments is what it’s truly about.
I’m grateful to have been part of a launch that’s receiving global recognition, and proud that the imagery helped represent the project on that stage.
Why this all matters?
Trade and industry publications not only play a big role in how major entertainment projects are shared globally, but also in how our domestic theme parks are viewed on the world stage. Personally, however, to have these images selected and published internationally, chosen to represent Warner Bros. Movie World’s newest addition, is confirmation that I, as a creative, have delivered on the goal I set out.
Having your images shared far and wide is every photographer’s dream, and no matter how many times you achieve it, seeing your photos on physical media, such as a magazine cover, is one of the most satisfying things you’ll ever do. For me now, the framed copy of the Australasian Leisure Management Magazine that hangs in my office serves as a daily reminder to continue perfecting my craft and as daily validation that I’m achieving my goals!
